The Reports and rpiratings.com continue to add new content

CBN is a leader in providing our subscribers innovative team statistics and data for all Division I teams. We will continue to do so in the future to bring our subscribers the best information available for each and every men's and women's Division I team in the country.

During the 2015-16 season, we added our Strength of Victory Ratings, which ranks teams by the average winning percentage of all Division I opponents that they defeated. Shown below are the top 20 men's teams from the end of the 2015-16 season. Oregon was the No. 1 team, and the average winning percentage of teams that the Ducks defeated was .5939. Just 48 teams had a Strength of Victory rating above .5000, showing how hard it is for teams to be in that elite category.

Several seasons ago CBN introduced opponents' won-lost records and percentage. This nicely compliments two existing schedule strength measurements, RPI-based schedule strength and opponents' average RPI. The following example shows the top 10 teams' W-L record, RPI schedule strength, average opponents' RPI rank, opponents' W-L record and rank, sorted by RPI schedule strength, from several years ago. The information given by opponents' W-L record, winning percentage, and winning percentage rank is apparent.

About 10 years ago we added an interesting, informative, and simple piece of data in the Reports and online called Conference Road Advantage. Conference Road Advantage is simply the difference between a team's road wins and home losses in conference games only. For example, if a team was 7-2 at home and 4-5 on the road in conference play, its Conference Road Advantage is 2. Conference Road Advantage gives a quick combination summary of how a team is protecting its home court and how it does in hostile conference arenas.

Also within the past several seasons CBN included several related items for both our men's and women's subscribers in our daily updates and The RPI Report and The Women's RPI Report. They were the Current Streak, Best Non-Conference Streak, Best Conference Streak, and Best and Worst Overall Streaks, for each of the teams in the RPI. For example, if a team has lost its last 5 games in a row, this will be denoted by L5 on the far right column of the daily updates and in the Reports. If a team has won its last 8 games in a row, it will be indicated by W8. Current Streak shows how a team has fared in its most recent game or games and is invaluable for a snapshot of a team's recent performance. Major League Baseball and the NBA, among others, quickly copied these streaks data and they are now a familiar part of the standings in your daily newspaper.

Several seasons ago CBN made available three new categories of data: Home Scoring Stats, Road Scoring Stats, and Neutral Scoring Stats. These alphabetical-by-team lists include: the teams' home, road, or neutral won-loss records; the teams' home, road, or neutral offensive, defensive, and scoring margin averages; and the teams' home, road, or neutral winning and losing margins.

Don't forget that our women's subscribers have had access to The Jeff Sagarin/CBN Women's Ratings on a daily basis for well over 10 seasons. Click on our Subscriber Services link found above for subscription information to The RPI Report and The Women's RPI Report.
