AP will Carry Men's RPI Ratings for 15th consecutive year in 2008-09
This will be the 12th season that AP carries the Women's RPI Ratings

For the 15th consecutive year, the Associated Press (AP) is carrying the men's RPI, provided by CBN, during the 2008-09 college basketball season.  In addition, this will be the 12th season that the AP has distributed the women's RPI. As has been the case in the past, the final, full season men's and women's RPI ratings will be distributed by AP following the NCAA championship games.

CBN's RPI was first carried by The Indianapolis Star and several other newspapers during the 1992-93 and 1993-94 seasons on an independent basis.  Jim O'Connell, AP's lead college basketball writer and member of the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Hall of Fame, discovered the value of The RPI Report early on, which eventually led to AP distributing the RPI to their subscribers.  O'Connell makes frequent use of the data contained in The RPI Report during his many radio interviews during the season.
